The hardest part is over, you've realized that it's time for some help. We all need help daily with the weight of life's stressors and therapy is simply someone else coming along side you to help carry the load of what has happened before, what is happening now or what you are concerned will happen in the future.
Healing is a journey. Sometimes on that journey we get lost or stuck. My goal is to help you navigate that journey in a manner which leads to a life that allows you to uncover your true potential and is worth celebrating. While changing difficult situations of the past isn't an option, releasing their power over your present is. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques to include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative self beliefs that may be holding you back from relaxing, from enjoying and from engaging in the beneficial pieces of your everyday.
I am Certified in EMDR, trained in The Early Trauma Protocol, an LMFT Supervisor, trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Pain Management and a fellow trauma survivor. As Bessel Van Der Kolk would say, "The body keeps the score." In therapy I seek to understand the lie our experiences have planted within us. When we break down the lie, than our truth or current reality can be the predictor of our anxiety or stress level. I'm excited to hear your story and look forward to celebrating each small victory along the way.
